He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Brownlee to Leon and Ella Wendler Faulhaber. Donald grew up in the Brownlee, Thedford and Scottsbluff areas before entering the U.S. Army, serving in Japan from 1948 until 1950. After his honorable discharge, he came to North Platte in 1951. Mr. Faulhaber was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 1211, Veterans of Foreign Wars and AARP Chapter 1688. Survivors include his wife, Delores of North Platte; a daughter, Donita (David) Gertsch of Plattsmouth; two sons, Orlin (Nancy) Faulhaber of North Platte, and Kevon (Marcie) Faulhaber of Blair; two sisters, Phyllis Breckner and Illa Brown both of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Halley Faulhaber of North Platte, Andrew, Joshua and Zachary Faulhaber all of Blair, Stephanie and Ross Gertsch both of Plattsmouth; and several other nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Viola Brown and Dola Tubbus; a brother, Orlin Faulhaber; two brothers-in-law, John Breckner and James Brown; and a nephew, Jimmy Brown. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church Endowment Trust. Christian Wake services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Adams & Swanson Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Vincent Parsons officiating. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. North Platte Telegraph 2005
