Mr. Peters passed away Friday, August 22, 1997, at his home. Interment was made in Lake Creek Cemetery in Rockwell City. Military honors were by the Lake City V.F.W. Post #1899 and American Legion Post #31. Donald W. Peters was born May 12, 1926, at Carnarvon, the son of John and Tena Meyer Peters. He was graduated from the Lake View High School. He married Bonny Pugh in 1947; they later divorced. He married Marian Patterson Brinker in 1972. He served in the United States Army for two years. He worked for the Egyptian Vault Company at Lake View for 18 years, Noble Manufacturing of Sac City, the City of Lake City, Bowie Manufacturing, and was past owner of the D and M Cafe. He was a member of the Lake City American Legion. He sang for many weddings and funerals in the area. Survivors include his wife, Marian; two daughters, Cheri Boger of Windsor,Mo., and Judy Hungate of Lake City; a son, Mark Peters of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Ruby Kies of Lake View and Velma Fogerty of Carnarvon; and a brother, Wilbert Peters of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Palmer; three sisters, Pearl Schott, Berdina Karstens and Shirley (at birth); a twin brother, Ronald; and three half-brothers: Lawrence, Elmer and Marvin Brinker. -------------------------
