Description	:	Donna G. Kilpatrick, 80, of Bothell, Wash., formerly of Laurel, Mont., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Port Orchard, Wash. She was born March 27, 1934, in Laurel, to the late Russell S. and Grace Ann (Radigan) Hard. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1952. Kilpatrick, 80, of Bothell, Wash., formerly of Laurel, Mont., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Port Orchard, Wash. She was born March 27, 1934, in Laurel, to the late Russell S. and Grace Ann (Radigan) Hard. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1952. Donna married the love of her life, Tom Kilpatrick, on June 12, 1953. Tom was in the Army and was stationed in Texas the following year where their daughter Debora was born. They moved back to Montana, lived in Nye, when their daughter Janus was born. They later moved to Dutton and Cut Bank before returning to Laurel in 1963. Donna worked at the J.C. Penney store in Laurel. She later became a reporter for the Laurel Outlook and the Billings Gazette, a job she loved as it allowed her to meet new people and to be in the middle of the news as it happened. Donna operated the Laurel Movie Haus with her husband since 1977 until it was destroyed by fire in 1996. During this time she was the first woman to be elected President of the Montana Association of Theater Owners. Donna was an active member and Senior Warden of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Laurel. She served as an alderman on the Laurel City Council for over 20 years. During her tenure she was on various committees that brought her in contact with many people in Laurel. She was a member of the Laurel Women in Business, Laurel Woman's Club, Laurel Garden Club, past President of the local Chamber of Commerce, past Chair of the local Library Board and the local Parks Committee, and involved in Girl Scouts and Rainbow Girls. She was also a proud Democrat and was active with Democratic committees in Yellowstone County, Montana State, and Washington State. In 2004, Donna and Tom moved to Washington to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. While living in Bothell, Donna and Tom were members of St. Francis Episcopal church in Mill Creek, Wash. They also attended as many Mariners and Seahawks games as they could. Donna loved being with people and was happiest when she was visiting her friends and family, whether it was playing cards or going out to dinner and dessert. On Jan. 18, 2009, her beloved husband of 55-and-a-half years, Tom Kilpatrick, passed away. His death was the catalyst to Donna's declining health, but we can rest assured that they are now happy together. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her twin brothers, Tom and Jerry. Donna leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughters Debbie Kilpatrick of Bothell and Janus (Dale) Koski of Port Orchard; three granddaughters, Lisa (Dusty) Mort of Port Orchard, Erin Koski and Emily Koski of Bothell; two great-grandsons, Wyatt and Weston Mort of Port Orchard; and three adoring nephews, Sam (Tanja) Hard of Denver, Colo., Thomas TJ (Allison) Hard of Seattle, Wash., and Wayne Hard of Livingston, Mont. Donna and Tom will be returning to Laurel for interment, as this will be their final resting place. A Memorial Service in Laurel will be held, tentatively scheduled for July 5. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Laurel Public Library or Christmas to Remember (PO Box 463 Laurel, MT 59044).
