Read More	July 20, 1928 — Aug. 7, 2007 ALEXANDRIA — Donna Jean Etchison, 79, Alexandria, died Aug. 7, 2007, at her residence after a courageous eight-year battle on dialysis. Born July 20, 1928, in Summitville, the daughter of Mart Glass and Lillie (Farmer) Glass, she resided in the Summitville-Alexandria area all of her lifetime. She and her late husband enjoyed their summer home at Hill Lake near Warsaw for more than 50 years. Donna was a 1946 graduate of Summitville High School. She retired in 1987 after 34 years at Delco Remy. She was an active supporter of the Alexandria Tiger Band Boosters during her sons high school years. She and her late husband cooked at the Town Tavern in Summitville for many years. Donna enjoyed crocheting and made numerous afghans as gifts of her love. She was fond of traveling and always enjoyed attending family gatherings. Her granddaughter, Maddie, brought much joy to her life. Survivors include sons, Kevin Etchison of Alexandria, and Steve (Donna) Etchison of Anderson; granddaughter, Madelynn JeanAnn Etchison; sister, Joan (Dick) Fisher, Summitville; brother-in-law, Stanley Goodwin, Alexandria; sister-in-law, Betty Etchison, Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Marvin Earl Etchison, on Sept. 10, 2004; and sisters, Melba McCune and Mary Chambers. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Owens Funeral Home, Alexandria, with the Rev. Gary Cable of First Church of the Nazarene, Anderson, officiating. Burial will be in Vinson Memorial Cemetery, Summitville. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation through the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special word of thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ravi Sarin and the staff of the Outpatient Dialysis Clinic at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
