Description	:	Donna Jeanne Lukehart, 91, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 18th, 2017, at Iowa River Hospice with her family by her side. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 22, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Home 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Donna was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Marshalltown to Samuel and Rhoda (Gifford) Stewart. She attended Anson School through the 5th grade. The family moved to Washington State and returned to Marshalltown in 1941. She graduated from MHS in 1943. Donna met the love of her life Leonard “Mike” Lukehart at the skating rink. They were married on the family farm Christmas Day 1943. He was serving in the US Army during World War II, and upon his return from service in 1945 they began a family and were blessed with 3 children: Lynda, Greg and John. They made their home east of Laurel, IA where they farmed. Donna loved to spend time outside gardening, especially with flowers, mowing the yard and often helping Mike in the field. She was an early riser and always made certain to finish her housework first thing. Her hobbies included reading, working puzzles, baking cookies, watching Wheel of Fortune and spending time with family. Donna worked at Marshalltown Manufacturing Instrument for 14 years. After retirement Donna and Mike enjoyed traveling. They journeyed on a farm tour to Europe, spent winters in Florida, and in the summers lived on Leach Lake, Minnesota where they loved to fish. On their 50th wedding anniversary they took a cruise around Hawaii. She was a life-long member of the Central Christian Church in Marshalltown, a member of the Laurel American Legion Auxiliary, and assisted in girls 4-H of Laurel. Donna will be missed by her daughter, Lynda (Morris) Wolken and her son, Greg (Cheryl) Lukehart both of Marshalltown as well as her daughter-in-law, Mary Daily Lewis of Oak Park, Ill. Six grandchildren: Lisa (Joe) Diers of Gilman; Lori (Tim) Wignall of State Center; Nate (Heather) Lukehart of Urbandale; Jill (Chris) Braye of Marshalltown; Jennifer Lukehart and her friend Walton Rowell of Los Angeles, CA.; Jason (Elizabeth) Lukehart of Oak Park, Ill. Eleven great-grandchildren: Nick Diers; Jena (Travis) Hunt; Maddison, Alexa, and Zoey Wignall; Cohen and Neala Lukehart; Sommer, Aly, Saydee and Hayden Braye. One great- great grandchild Mason Hunt, sister, Susan Freland of Rhodes, sisters-in-law, Jean Stewart of Grand Rapids, MN, Marilyn Stewart of Oxford, IA and several nieces and nephews. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard (“Mike”), her son, John Lukehart, brothers, Darrell and Jerry Stewart, sister, Ethel Hazel, brother-in-law, Jamie Freland and grand-daughter, Angela Lukehart.
