Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Leonard J. "Mike" Lukehart was born on Monday; July 28, 1924 in Laurel; Marshall County, Iowa. Leonard was the son of William and Ida (McIlrath) Lukehart. He grew up on his parents' farm southeast of Laurel, Iowa and graduated from the Laurel High School. He served in the United States Army and served in the European Theater during World War II. On Saturday; December 25, 1943, he was united in marriage to Donna Stewart at their family farm southeast of Laurel, Iowa. The couple farmed their Century Family Farm until his retirement in 1975. They moved to Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa in 1995. His memberships and civic involvement include: Central Christian Church and several of the church boards; member and past vice president of the Marshall County Farm Bureau; Harold McBroom American Legion Post #638, Laurel; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #839; Disabled American Veterans; Gilman Flying Club; and the American Legion Golf Course. Leonard especially loved his family, golf and sports. He always cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leonard J. "Mike" Lukehart, age 82, passed away on Monday; April 16, 2007 in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Donna of Marshalltown; a daughter, Lynda J. (Morris) Wolken of Gilman; a son, Greg (Cheryl) Lukehart of Marshalltown; a son, John S. (Mary D. Lewis) Lukehart of Oak Park, IL; a sister, Inez Jones of Elmhurst, IL; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In eternal life, Leonard has been reunited with his parents, a brother: Clyde and a granddaughter: Angela Lukehart. Visitation times are from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening; April 18, 2007 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 19, 2007 at the Central Christian Church in Marshalltown. Burial with military honors will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
