Description	:	Donna Lavonne (Schwanke) Behnken was born to her loving parents Paul Johannes August "August" and Marie Katherine (Schroeder) Schwanke on Thursday July 28, 1932 at Platte County Nebraska. Donna's parents farm in Nebraska until 1940, then farmed at Walnut, Pottawattamie County Iowa until 1943, then farmed at Harlan, Shelby County until 1947, and then they moved to the farm three miles west of Atlantic, Cass County where Donna spent the remainder of her childhood. My research found no information on Donna's schooling. I believe we played as children once in the late fifties and again in the early sixties... Read More	Donna Lavonne (Schwanke) Behnken was born to her loving parents Paul Johannes August "August" and Marie Katherine (Schroeder) Schwanke on Thursday July 28, 1932 at Platte County Nebraska. Donna's parents farm in Nebraska until 1940, then farmed at Walnut, Pottawattamie County Iowa until 1943, then farmed at Harlan, Shelby County until 1947, and then they moved to the farm three miles west of Atlantic, Cass County where Donna spent the remainder of her childhood. My research found no information on Donna's schooling. I believe we played as children once in the late fifties and again in the early sixties when my family traveled to their Iowa farm. Donna was united in marriage to Otto Behnken Jr. on Saturday January 12, 1952 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Atlantic. The couple were blessed with two daughters and a son over the years of their marriage. Otto and Donna farmed south of Wiota where they raised their children. Donna was a typical farm lady who was able to balance raising her children and assisting with the farm chores. Sadly Donna passed on Thursday October 28, 2004 at Atlantic. My research found no information on Donna's funeral service. Donna was interred in the First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery also known as the Franklin Cemetery south of Wiota. Donna's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Donna by a family relative Loren R.
