Description	:	Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at Beth-El Community Church, Milford, NE with Pastor Joshua Jones officiating. A visitation will be Thursday, from 4-7:30 p.m. at Lauber Funeral Home, Milford. Burial is in Milford Mennonite Cemetery. A funeral luncheon is to follow in the fellowship hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Beth-El Community Church. Donna Lee (Cook) Pearson was born April 7, 1932, in Milford, Nebraska. She was the only child born to Joseph and Verda (Schlegel) Jantze, and passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Hawthorne Rehabilitation Center in Ocala, Florida at the age of 89. She attended Milford Public Schools and graduated class valedictorian in 1950. Donna was united in marriage to Ivan Hyle Cook on February 29, 1952 and to this union five children were born. In her early years, Donna worked for Schlegel Grocery, later becoming the editor with the Milford Times Newspaper. She taught at a country school near Pleasant Dale and was secretary for Bankers Life Insurance Company. Later, she was supervisor for GTE, where she published GTE telephone directories for 24 years. Donna was blessed with a second marriage to Laurence "Bud" Bernard Pearson on June 12, 2005, and together lived in Milford and Thedford. They enjoyed their winters spent in Arizona. Donna was a long-time member of Beth-El Community Church in Milford, NE. She was a former Sunday School superintendent and was the first church pianist when the church fellowship began in 1954 and also played piano various times at Milford High School. In her retirement, Donna enjoyed the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. After retiring, she volunteered at Et-Cetera Gift and Thrift Shop, Seward, Sunrise Country Manor, Crestview Nursing Home and Linden Village, Milford, for 8 years. Survivors include her daughters, son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Dixie Cook of Ocala, FL, Wendy and John Lohmeier of Seward, NE and Karen Cook of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren and spouses, Nicole Cook, Lincoln, NE, Nathan Cook and fiance Makayla Tipton, Houston, TX, Tiffany and Kerwin Roth, Seward, NE, Deanna and Keith Eloi, Waverly, NE, Laura and Jack Shaw, Houston, TX, Savannah and Elliott Engle, Firth, NE; seven great-grandchildren, Kretyn, Kain and Noah Roth, all of Seward, NE, Jaiven, Mason and Zara Eloi, all of Waverly, NE; Brooklyn Engle, Firth, NE; step-daughter, Marian and Doug Eicher and her family; step sister, Mary Jane Stutzman; step sister-in-law, Naomi Yeackley; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
