NORTH KINGSVILLE — Donna M. Kray, age 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015.
She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of the late William Karl and Hallie (Wolfcale) Burkhart.
Donna’s family moved when she was two from Ft. Wayne to Denmark Township. She lived in Denmark until she married the love of her life Joe Kray on March 2, 1944, in Sebring, Fla.

NORTH KINGSVILLE — Donna M. Kray, age 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015.
She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of the late William Karl and Hallie (Wolfcale) Burkhart.
Donna’s family moved when she was two from Ft. Wayne to Denmark Township. She lived in Denmark until she married the love of her life Joe Kray on March 2, 1944, in Sebring, Fla.
Joe and Donna settled in the Kingsville area where they began their family. They soon opened and successfully ran Kray Feed Co. on Route 193 in North Kingsville.
Donna worked as the clerk and bookkeeper for the business for over 34 years, before retiring in 1986, turning the family business over to their sons who still continue to operate the business today. After retirement, Donna and Joe enjoyed spending their winters in Florida.
Donna was a faithful member of Kingsville Presbyterian Church serving in many aspects of the church including being a past Deacon. She was a member of the American Legion Neal Post #743 auxiliary in North Kingsville, the Red Hat Society, the Order of the Eastern Star Orion Chapter #12, and a charter member of the Pierpont Chapter #546. Mrs. Kray also enjoyed traveling with the Roadrunners, playing the organ, reading, and playing bingo.
Most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Kray is survived by her children, David (Barbara Kister) Kray of Kingsville, Mary (Larry) Herl of Girard, Pa., Nancy Kray of Ashtabula, and Steven (Tina DelPrince) Kray of North Kingsville; brother, Hubert Burkhart of Jefferson; sister, Carol (Gene) Duva of Florida; grandchildren, Julie (Paul) Cook, David (Becky) Kray II, Matthew Herl, Pamela (Kyle) Herl-Glasl, Valerie (Shawn) Herl-Johnson, Joseph (Sabrina Menezes) Herl, Rory (Stephanie) Marshall, Tammy (John) Andrew, Tim (Julie) Cusano, and Steven (Nicole) Kray; as well as 21 great-grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kray; brother, Raeburn Burkhart; sister, Wanda Hodges; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30th, at Kingsville Presbyterian Church, 3056 W. Main St. (Route 84), Kingsville, with the Rev. Mary Susan Pisano officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
Calling Hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, as well as from 12 p.m. until the time of Service at 1 p.m. at the Church on Wednesday.

THEIR SON: David L. Kray Sunday, January 3, 2016 KINGSVILLE — David L. Kray, age 70, of Kingsville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at his home. He was born June 19, 1945, in Avon Park, Fla., the son of the late Joe and Donna (Burkhart) Kray. He married the love of his life Barbara Kister in Kingsville, on April 20, 1962. Dave worked for the family business Kray Feed Co. since 1953, taking over the business with his brother after their parent’s retirement in 1986. Dave was part of the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department for almost 50 years as a Fireman/EMT serving the last 30 of those years as the department Fire Chief. He was a member of the Ashtabula County Fire Chief’s Association for many years. Dave greatly enjoyed the friendships he made over the years and participating in the many activities at the fire department. It truly was his second family. He enjoyed woodworking and coaching his children in little league when they were young. Dave also liked to build go-carts and mini bikes, and made trails to go riding on them in their back woods. He loved watching his grandchildren play soccer, little league baseball and softball. Dave will also be missed by his dog "Abby" who he loved to take for rides and get her ice cream. He always enjoyed pulling pranks on his family and friends, those of you know who you are. Dave was grateful to help others when in need, he was always there for his friends and family. Dave is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara; children, Julie (Paul) Cook of Kingsville and David II (Becky) Kray of Kingsville; grandchildren, Todd (Wendy) Cook, Erin (Ryan) Bush, Jacob Kray, Lizzie Kray and Luke Kray; great-grandchildren, William Stevens, Alyssa Stevens, and Bryceton Adermatt; sisters, Mary (Larry) Herl of Girard, Pa. and Nancy Kray of Ashtabula; brother, Steven (Tina) Kray of North Kingsville; his beloved dog, Abby; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Joe on March 9, 2006; and his mother, Donna on Dec. 27, 2015. A Firefighter's Service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Neroy Carter, Pastor Emeritus of the New Hope Ministry International, officiating. Calling Hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan.5th, and on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of Service at 1 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
