Description	:	Donna Mae (Modine) Drey was born September 2, 1930 to Julius and Mildred (Wiegand) Modine in Colome, SD and passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2014. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She married Howard Horton and to this union 5 children were born. She worked a few years at the Ben Franklin Store in Gregory, but her greatest accomplishment was raising her 5 children and doing day-care for many children in the Gregory area. Read More	Donna Mae (Modine) Drey was born September 2, 1930 to Julius and Mildred (Wiegand) Modine in Colome, SD and passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2014. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She married Howard Horton and to this union 5 children were born. She worked a few years at the Ben Franklin Store in Gregory, but her greatest accomplishment was raising her 5 children and doing day-care for many children in the Gregory area. She took great joy in seeing many grow to adulthood. She married Kenneth Drey in 1982. Five step-children and spouses were then happily added to her family. She took great pride in her home and yard, especially at holidays, spending many hours decorating at Christmas to make sure that everything was perfect. She did allow her husband Ken to decorate outside. She so enjoyed having the whole clan home especially for the 4th of July, because it was the holiday that they could all be outside. This gave her the opportunity to visit with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so proud of all of them and relished their accomplishments. She made all the new spouses feel so welcome and new babies were the light of her life. As her children, we feel so honored to have had her as our mother, not only for her unconditional love for us, but for her faith that we could accomplish anything we set out to do. Thank you Mom for being there for us and just for being you. Donna's faith in her God and Risen Savior sustained her through her entire life, especially this past year. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Drey of Gregory; her children: Carol (Dutch) Te Slaa; Bruce Horton; Terry (Jill) Horton; Jody (Terry) Leibel and Kip Horton. Step-children: David (Judy) Drey; Dennis (Mitzi) Drey; Darrell (Robbie) Drey; and Darla (Terry) Frank. And by 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren. Her Brothers: LeRoy (Ina) Modine, Pete (Phyliss) Modine; Vern (Teresa) Modine; her sister Shirley (Tom) Harder, and sister-in-law Phyliss Modine. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Dale and Harold Modine and sisters-in-law Ina and Jody. A step-son Doug Drey and a grandson Craig Horton.
