Description	:	Donna Marie Heim was born on May 23rd, 1927 at Faulkton, South Dakota, the daughter of Anton and Margaret Lenhoff Heim. Her grandparents were Peter Lenhoff of Faulkton, and Elizabeth Ziegenfuss Heim of Sac City, Iowa, as well as the late Franz Heim and Mary Unkrur Lenhoff. Donna was raised on the family near Faulkton. She attended country school and graduated from Faulkton High School in 1945. She also attended a Normal Course at Northern State Normal College in Aberdeen and taught rural school. Donna married Wendlin Baumgartner, the son of Sebastian and Magdalena Grosz Baumgartner, on May 23rd, 1946 at Faulkton. They lived firstly in Wahpeton, North Dakota and later lived for a time in the Redfield, South Dakota area. In 1950, They moved in to Rapid City where they made their home and raised 17 children. Donna was a homemaker, and was very active in her community and her Church. The children of Wendy and Donna Baumgartner are: Gloria Cain, Thomas, Stephan, Jerome, Elaine, Loretta Pillatzki, Richard, Joseph, Charles, John, Andrew, Ronald, Robert, Craig, Dale, Gary and Kevin. Mrs. Baumgartner passed away at Rapid City on February 5th, 1993. Her funeral was conducted at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic in Rapid City. Interment was at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota. In addition to her husband, Wendlin, her children and grandchildren, Donna was survived by three brothers, Naish and Myrn Heim of Rockham, SD, Vernon and Agnes Heim of Goodwin, SD, and Joe Heim of Colman, SD and two sisters, Rita and Gaylon Armstrong and Marcella and Bruce Keller, all of Ashton, SD. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Margaret, one brother, Lawrence, and two sisters, Margaret Taylor Lauritzen and Betty McDermaid, her grandparents, and her parents-in-law.
