Description	:	Donna Halverson, 81, of West Union, died Saturday, March 31, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, from complications of cancer. She was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Wadena, daughter of Ole and Pearl Erickson Johnson. She married Earl E. Halverson in 1946 in West Union, where they raised three daughters on a farm west of town. He died in April 1973. Mrs. Halverson worked at the Federal Land Bank and was branch manager of the Family Federal/Peoples Federal Savings Bank. Survivors include: three daughters, Paula (Larry) Loftsgard of Davenport, Sandy (Tom) Brokl of Golden Valley, Minn., and Martha (Von) Hollingsworth of Concord, Ohio; six grandchildren, Rhett Loftsgard, John R. Parkhurst, Susannah Brokl and Jocelyn, Anna and Paige Hollingsworth; and a sister, Ilo Mae Rau of Arlington. Preceded in death by: her parents; and a brother, Derrel Johnson. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, West Union, with the Rev. Scott Kober officiating. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to Palmer Memorial Building Fund in West Union. The family wishes to note her qualities of courage, spirit, wisdom, humor and love as they say goodbye to their beloved "Matriarch."
