Lambert, who had been ill for the past six months, passed away at the Lutheran hospital at Norfolk, Nebr., on Wednesday, July 3. Death was attributed to cancer of the bowel and she had undergone an operation in the hope of feeling relief, but to no avail. Doris Anna Sebade was born at Beemer, Nebraska, March 27, 1889, and at the time of her death had reached the age of 40 years, 3 months and 6 days of age. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sebade and came to Knox county with her parents when a girl. On May 15, 1907 she was married to William J. Lambert and to this union five children were born, four boys and one girl; Edward, Lois, Paul, Harold and Melvin. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert formerly made their home in the Creighton vicinity but for the past ten years have have resided near Plainview. Besides her husband and five children she is survived by her father, Herman Sebade of Wall, S.D.; two brothers, Henry and Herman, both of Wall, S.D. four sisters, Mrs. Richard Scheer, Mrs.Louis Schone, both of Wall, S.D.; Mrs. Y.G. Mulder, Orange City, Iowa and Mrs. Ersel Huddleston, Wessington, S.D. All the relatives were here in attendance at the last rites. Short services were held at the home on Saturday, July 6, near Plainview, and the funeral services were held in the Zion Lutheran church in Creighton at 3 o'clock on Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. George Obermeyer. Many beautiful floral tributes and the large concourse of relatives and friends who followed the remains to their last resting place in Greenwood cemetery at Creighton gave mute evidence of the high esteem in which this woman was held by all. The News unites with friends of the family in extending condolences to those bereft of a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister.
