Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Cook, who passed away at the Estell hospital Monday evening, March 21st, were held at the Zion Lutheran church last Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. John Beckmann. Doris Kruse was born in Oldenburg, Germany, January 8, 1856, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Christian Kruse and the eldest of ten children. Read More	Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Cook, who passed away at the Estell hospital Monday evening, March 21st, were held at the Zion Lutheran church last Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. John Beckmann. Doris Kruse was born in Oldenburg, Germany, January 8, 1856, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Christian Kruse and the eldest of ten children. The family came to America in 1883 and for a time were located in the St. Edward community. From there they moved to the Kruse Hill neighborhood west of Albion. Her father passed away in 1884 and her mother in 1896. She was united in marriage to John Cook, March 18, 1884 and they took up their residence on the Cook homestead north of Albion until after twenty-five years when they moved to Albion. She and her husband, who preceded her in death more than a year ago, were members of Zion Lutheran church since its organization. Mrs. Cook had been in failing health since last December when she was injured in a fall. Since the first of the year she has been living with her son Fred. Sunday, March 20th, she was brought to the Estell hospital but passed away the following evening. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Fred and a daughter, Doris, four grandchildren, three brothers, Fred and Henry Kruse of Albion and John Kruse of Clay Center; three sisters, Mrs. E. Krohn of Albion, Mrs. Sophie Barkermeyer of West Point and Mrs. August Seeberg of Omaha and other relatives and friends. (Albion Weekly News – Albion, Nebraska – March 31, 1932)
