Description	:	Johann Christian Friedrich Cook was born in Kirhcebezirk Sassen, Pommern, Germany on February 4, 1846. He was the son of Daniel Koch and his wife Marie nee Galitz. Mr. Cook spent his childhood and youth in Germany. He left Germany for America in 1873 and settled first at Freeport, Ill. Six years later he moved to Nebraska and Boone County. Read More	Johann Christian Friedrich Cook was born in Kirhcebezirk Sassen, Pommern, Germany on February 4, 1846. He was the son of Daniel Koch and his wife Marie nee Galitz. Mr. Cook spent his childhood and youth in Germany. He left Germany for America in 1873 and settled first at Freeport, Ill. Six years later he moved to Nebraska and Boone County. Here he was united in wedlock to Dorothea Kruse in 1883, the nineteenth day of March. Two children were born to this union, Fritz Cook of Albion and Martha Eliza, who preceded her father in death. Mr. Cook was one of the founders of the Zion Lutheran church of Albion, Nebraska. Together with five other pioneers he organized the Lutheran church here in 1893. He helped build the first church which is now on First Street. Mr. Cook was not in good health for some time. The last few weeks before his death he began to fail rapidly and departed this life Friday morning, November 21. His age was 84 years, 9 months and 17 days. Funeral services were held from Zion Lutheran church Sunday afternoon and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Cook, and a son Fred Cook.
