Description	:	Mrs. William Krause, whose home was in the Edgewater Park addition of Norfolk, died Wednesday, April 11, 1917, from pneumonia, due to the flooding. The attending physician believe that her death was a direct result of the flood. The Krause home was surrounded by the flood waters. Read More	Mrs. William Krause, whose home was in the Edgewater Park addition of Norfolk, died Wednesday, April 11, 1917, from pneumonia, due to the flooding. The attending physician believe that her death was a direct result of the flood. The Krause home was surrounded by the flood waters. The water was four inches deep in the rooms of the home during the flood and although she was in delicate health, Mrs. Krause was forced to walk in the icy water to do her home duties. A son was born a few days following the flood, but had died. Another child, a daughter, is suffering from cerebral meningitis, or brain fever, which has effected a number of people in the area. According to the physician, Mrs. Krause, was exposed to the cold water during the flood and became quite ill shortly after the flood and suffered from severe attacks of rheumatism. Pneumonia then set in and hope of her recovery was given up late Tuesday night. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, from the Krause home and 2:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Norfolk. Rev. John Witt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Norfolk, Nebraska. She is survived by her husband, William Krause; three sons, Edwin, Arthur and Harry Krause; one daughter, Anna Krause; her mother, Gertrude Suckstorf; and two sisters, Emma (Johann) Pruess and Anna (Peter) Wendel. She was preceded in death by an infant son, her father and one sister. Her parents were Christian Friedrich and Gertrude Margaretha (Giebelstein) Suchsdorf. She, along with her parents, came to the United States to Madison County, Nebraska in 1906. The surname Suchsdorf became Suckstorf in the United States. She married William Krause. They were the parents of Edwin, Arthur, Harry, Anna and an infant unnamed son. William Krause was born December 1869, in Watertown, Wisconsin. His second wife was Ella F. Hohneke. They were the parents of Ruth E., Earl F., Kathryn O. Krause and an infant son. They are listed in the Nebraska 1930 state census living in Norfolk. The whereabouts of this family are unknown. Both Dora and her daughter Anna have printed obituaries in the Norfolk Daily News, and the place of burial was given as St. Paul's Cemetery, Norfolk, yet there is no record of any Krause buried in this cemetery. They have no gravestone on their graves.
