She died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine. Elder Darrell Argotsinger officiated the 2:00 p.m. final rites. Vocalist Tina Argotsinger was accompanied by musician Barbara Sherer. She sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "The Lord's Prayer." The congregational hymns were "Family of God" and "The Old, Old Path." Bearers were Lynn Argotsinger, Jay Coffelt, Eugene Jacobsen, Carl Michael, Stan Weed and Dennis Young. Doris Young-Jacobsen-Cole was born August 12, 1914, to Dick and Undine Hattie (Holeton) Young in Woodbine, Iowa. She attended rural schools until the fifth grade when she started going to the Woodbine Public Schools. She graduated from Woodbine Normal in 1931. She then taught school for five years in Boyer Township County School. Doris was united in marriage to Raymond Jacobsen in 1937. To this union four children were born, Carol Ann and Dwayne Raymond, and two who died as infants. The couple farmed in the Logan area. She continued her education, graduating from Dana College in 1969. She had taught school from 1954 to 1978. Raymond died in 1973, and Doris then moved into Woodbine where she was teaching. In 1985, she married Ross Cole. He had two children, Mary Jane and Fred. He died in 1988. Doris was baptized in the R.L.D.S. Church when she was eight years old. She belonged to several clubs, the Reading Club - Eldeens, Sew & Chat, and the Harrison County retired teachers. Doris will be remembered for her love of chil-dren, the friendships she offered, her beef and noodles, and sugar cookies. Besides her husbands and children, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a son-in-law, Lyle Livengood, and four brothers, Ralph, Charles, Lloyd in infancy, and Bill. Survivors include her son, Dwayne and wife Dottie of Eagle Rock, Missouri, daughter, Carol Livengood of Modale, stepson, Fred Cole and wife Dorthea, stepdaughter, Mary Jane and husband Harry Ballentine, three sisters, Mary and husband Darrell Argotsinger of Woodbine, Mildred Faircloth of New Plymouth, Idaho, and Shirley Michael of Logan, and sister-in-law, Virgie Young of Seattle, Washington, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. --------------------- The Woodbine Twiner Woodbine, Iowa May 28, 1998
