Church, Saturday afternoon, July 12th, for Dick Young, with Elder Francis Harper officiat-ing. Music was furnished by Mrs. Lloyd Donn and Mrs. Harold Watkins, accompanied by Miss Lucille Pett. Pallbearers were Howard Young, John Boone, Archie Deal, Dean Boone, William Hare and Richard Young, all nephews of Mr. Young. Burial was in the Woodbine Cemetery. Lee Roy (Dick as he was known) Young, the seventh child of Ritter and Agnes Thompson-Young, was born in Bigler's Grove, west of Woodbine, October 16, 1887, and passed away at his home here in Woodbine, July 10, 1952, at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 24 days. His health had been failing for the last seven years. On November 20, 1907, he was united in marriage to Una Holeton. To this union were born four sons and four daughters, Ralph of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Charles of Kansas City, Missouri; Doris Jacobsen of Logan; Ronald of Moorhead; Shirley Michael of Logan; Mary Argotsinger of Woodbine; and, Mildred Fair-cloth of Pendleton, Oregon. One son, Lloyd, preceded him in death. In February 1921, he was baptized in the R.L.D.S. Church, and was soon ordained to the office of Teacher and later to the office of Priest in the Aaronic Order. He was Church School Superintendent for several years. His parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, seven children, 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, one brother, Edd Young of Woodbine; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Deal of Cameron, Missouri, and Mrs. Bessie Hare of Woodbine, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He spent his entire life in this community, his parents being old settlers of this county. He was a prominent farmer and dairyman, a kind and helpful husband and father and was a faithful and ardent worker in the church as long as his health was good.
