Read More	ROCOLE, DORIS—Doris (Brower) Rocole was born Oct. 31, 1919, in Fairmont to Thomas Brower and Anna (Kirst) Brower and passed away on March 8, 2001, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 8 days. Doris graduated from Geneva High School in 1937, and went to work for the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company. In August of 1945, she went to work at the Fairmont Air Base as a clerk typist in the payroll section. She worked until she married Warren Wayne Rocole of Strang on March 23, 1947, and to them were born four sons. She and her husband ran the Phillips 66 gas station in Geneva from 1958 to 1972. She lost her husband to cancer in April of 1975. Afterward Doris stayed busy with odd jobs, such as working for the Geneva Qwik Shop from 1981 to 1984, serving as a hostess for Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva for ten years and working for the Fillmore County Fair office from 1975 to 1996. Doris loved to do crafts especially working with beads and crochet. One of her goals was to crochet every grandchild an afghan to hand them at their high school graduation. Although three of them have not graduated, she was able to complete their gifts. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Anna Brower; brother, Bernard Brower; a grandson, Bruce Brower Rocole Jr.; brother-in-law, Wayne Chapman and sister-in-law, Donna Jean Brower. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Twila Rocole , Larry and Jacque Rocole, Galen and Kathy Rocole, Bruce and Patricia Rocole; brother, bill Brower and wife , Millie; sisters, Frances Chapman, Carol Schafer and husband, Leon, and Evelyn Dunwoody and husband, Robert; two aunts, nine grandchildren; several nephews and nieces and cousins. Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva on Saturday, March 10, 2001, with Rev. Jay Mitchell officiating. Susan Kleinschmidt accompanied Delwin Myers who sang “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Amazing Grace” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Pallbearers were grandchildren, Shannen, Tracy, Scott, Andrew, Conner and Matthew Rocole. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren, Wendi, Tiffany and Larry Leigh Rocole. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal March 14th, 2001 page 16.
