Reimers was born December 16, 1913 in Willows to Joseph and Cora McPherson. She attended Willows schools and graduated from Glenn County High School in 1931. She began working in the Glenn County Auditor-Controller's office in 1944. In January 1951, she became Auditor-Controller and held that office until her retirement on December 17, 1974. Read More	"Wagon Wheels", A Colusi County Historical Society Publication, Volume 53, Spring 2003: Doris E. Reimers Doris E. Reimers was born December 16, 1913 in Willows to Joseph and Cora McPherson. She attended Willows schools and graduated from Glenn County High School in 1931. She began working in the Glenn County Auditor-Controller's office in 1944. In January 1951, she became Auditor-Controller and held that office until her retirement on December 17, 1974. While in this office Ms. Reimers served on various Committees appointed by the State Controller to develop and establish uniform accounting and tax collection procedures for California counties. Doris was a Willows Monday Afternoon Club member since 1975, and served as treasurer for many years. She served on the City of Willows Planning Commission and the City's Bicentennial Committee for two years prior and one year after 1976. She had been a member of the Soroptimist's since 1951 and the Colusi County Historical Society since 1973. She was a member of the Willows Museum Board for a number of years and served as Treasurer. Ms. Reimers held numerous positions at Willows Christian Church, including Clerk, Financial Secretary, Board Chairman, Youth Leader, and Sunday School Teacher. She also volunteered at Glenn General Hospital for many years. Two sisters, Judy M. Butler of George Town, Texas and Charlotte Mansfield of Lynwood, Washington, and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. Two brothers and two sisters predeceased her. On April 24, 2003, the Willows Christian Church held a memorial service for Doris Reimers who died April 19, 2003, at the Sunbridge Care Center in Willows at the age of 89.
