She passed away at the Guthrie County Hospital in Guthrie Center, Iowa on February 12, 2019. Doris grew up on a farm in rural Panora, IA. She passed away at the Guthrie County Hospital in Guthrie Center, Iowa on February 12, 2019. Doris grew up on a farm in rural Panora, IA. She attended Victory #6 country school and Panora High School. She married Richard (Dick) Chris Jorgensen on August 10, 1947. To this union two children were born, Richard Chris Jorgensen II of Council Bluffs, IA and Dianne Louise (Jorgensen) Jones of Ankeny, IA. Doris and Dick lived in Guthrie Center the majority of their married life. Doris worked at Halsey's Super Value and Rinehardt's Homeland Foods for over 40 years. She was a lifetime member of the Guthrie Center United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Guthrie County Hospital Auxiliary and the Guthrie Center Fireman's Auxiliary. She was a resident of the New Homestead at the time of her death. Doris was preceded in death by her mother and father, her beloved husband Dick and two brothers Eugene Wilson and Marion Wilson. She is survived by her two children, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, a sister Virginia Wood of Independence, MO, a brother Bill (Janet) Wilson of Jamaica, IA and many nieces, nephews. Doris enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, card playing, and a competitive game of Aggravation. She and Babe Mains still hold the record for wins over Dick and Frank. She loved large family dinners and any time she could spend with family. Doris was a woman of a kind heart, a great laugh, and smile. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
