Geer Star Beacon ASHTABULA — Doris M. Geer, age 74, of Ashbrook Drive, died Monday, May 23, 2011, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Doris was diagnosed with lung cancer in May of 2010. On April 6, 2011, her left lung was removed and glory to God all pathology showed she was cancer free. Doris passed away from complications while she was in rehabilitation. From the time of Doris’ cancer diagnosis, she was satisfied with the full life God had given her. She was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Austinburg, the daughter of Leo and Evelyn (Reed) Inman and had been a life-long area resident. A graduate of Austinburg High School, Doris later attended college and worked for Reliance Electric as an accountant for thirty-five years. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and reading books. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time on the internet and reading funny e-mail forwards. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Durward Geer, whom she married on March 12, 1960; son, David Geer of Ashtabula; daughter, Diane (Jon) Leonhardt of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Michelle, Marnie, Melinda, Meredith, Lauren, Kevin and Jamie; four great-granddaughters; seven great-grandsons; brothers, Richard and Maynard Inman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Arthur Geer; brothers, Russell, Roy and Robert Inman; and both parents. The family will hold a service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28th, at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect, Ashtabula. Tim Kraus, minister of the Conneaut Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville. Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 27th, at the Funeral Home.
