Description	:	Doris Mae Vietor was born on a farm near Davis, SD on June 7, 1924, the daughter of Lester T. and Flora (Marks) Hammerstrom. She attended rural school there and then moved with her family to a farm near Chancellor. She graduated from Chancellor High School in 1942. On December 15, 1942 she was united in marriage to LuVerne Peter Vietor at Canton. They farmed in Turner County their entire married life. Her husband preceded her in death on May 18, 1972. Read More	Doris Mae Vietor was born on a farm near Davis, SD on June 7, 1924, the daughter of Lester T. and Flora (Marks) Hammerstrom. She attended rural school there and then moved with her family to a farm near Chancellor. She graduated from Chancellor High School in 1942. On December 15, 1942 she was united in marriage to LuVerne Peter Vietor at Canton. They farmed in Turner County their entire married life. Her husband preceded her in death on May 18, 1972. In the fall of 1972 she moved into Chancellor where she had since lived. She had been a baby sitter for the past several years to the present time. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother on February 11, 1977, her father on January 20, 1987, one brother, Dale Hammerstrom on January 24, 1986, and one great-grandson, Thomas James Jongeling, on July 3, 1990. Doris died suddenly upon arrival at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls on June 2, 1991, the result of an apparent heart attack. She attained the age of 66 years, 11 months and 15 days. Grateful for having shared her life are three daughters: Mrs. Kenneth (Loretta) Nordman of Lennox, Mrs. Harvey (Vera) Jongeling of Chancellor, and Mrs. Robert (Florene) Meyer of Lennox; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. C.E.Bob (Irene) Harms of Sioux Falls; 2 brothers and sister-in-law: Earl and Mabel Hammerstrom of Wall, and Gene and Velma Hammerstrom of Harrisburg; a sister-in-law, Bernice Hammerstrom Beaumont of Sioux Falls; and her step-mother, Mrs. Henrietta Hammerstrom of Lennox
