Description	:	DORIS MEABON Doris Marie Meabon, 79, of Ellensburg died peacefully at home on Nov. 13, 2004. She was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Clayton, a daughter of Philippe and Goldie (Davis) Martin. She moved with her family to Prosser where she attended middle school and graduated from Prosser High School. She worked in the fruit industry in the area for a time and in 1943, she and Morris Meabon were married in Grandview. Read More	DORIS MEABON Doris Marie Meabon, 79, of Ellensburg died peacefully at home on Nov. 13, 2004. She was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Clayton, a daughter of Philippe and Goldie (Davis) Martin. She moved with her family to Prosser where she attended middle school and graduated from Prosser High School. She worked in the fruit industry in the area for a time and in 1943, she and Morris Meabon were married in Grandview. They came to the Kittitas Valley soon thereafter, living in Thorp and Kittitas before moving to Ellensburg in 1948. While raising their six children Doris was a full-time mother. A creative seams-tress, she enjoyed making clothing for her family as well as knitting, crocheting and working with ceramics. She was an avid reader as well. When her family was grown, she began a varied employment experience including working in a school cafeteria, selling Avon products, working for Twin City Foods, Yakima Bait and finally, until retirement in 2003, working for Pautzke Bait. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris, on June 20, 2003; and her son, Gary, on Nov. 13, 2000. Doris is survived by her sons, Jim (Judy) Meabon of Arizona, Nick (Joan) Meabon of Edmonds and Lonnie (Lori) Meabon of Greenley, Colo.; daughters, Nancy Carlson and Sherry Meabon of Ellensburg; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, Rev. Lewis LaMance of Tacoma. Following family visitation at Affordable Funeral Care Nov. 17, there will be graveside services at the family plot in IOOF Cemetery for family members. A memorial celebration of life will be at noon, Nov. 17, at the Family Christian Center, formerly First Assembly of God, 701 E, Capitol Ave. followed by a reception for friends and family.
