Description	:	MORRIS MEABON Morris H. Meabon, 79, of Ellensburg died June 20, 2003, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born in Grandview on Nov. 11, 1923. He was one of nine children to H.Z. and Elsie (Paden) Meabon. He was raised in the Benton City area and, upon completion of his schooling, he worked as a farm hand. He and Doris Martin were married in Grandview in 1943. They came to the Kittitas Valley soon after, living in Thorp and Kittitas before moving to Ellensburg in 1948. He was born in Grandview on Nov. 11, 1923. He was one of nine children to H.Z. and Elsie (Paden) Meabon. He was raised in the Benton City area and, upon completion of his schooling, he worked as a farm hand. He and Doris Martin were married in Grandview in 1943. They came to the Kittitas Valley soon after, living in Thorp and Kittitas before moving to Ellensburg in 1948. He was employed by the city of Ellensburg as a member of the police force for a number of years. He also worked for the Kittitas County Dairy Association as a milk route driver and, during his employment with Schaake Packing, he was a member of the meatcutter's union. Until retirement he worked for Pautzke Bait. Morris was a member of the Kittitas County Field & Stream Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His main interests were family and travel. He attended the Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Garey, in November 2000; his parents; brothers, Ron and Ken Meabon; and sisters, Louise Lichty and Bernice Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Doris of Ellensburg; sons, Jim (Judy) Meabon of Arizona, Nick (Joan) Meabon of Edmonds and Lonnie (Lori) Meabon of Colorado; daughters, Nancy Carlson and Sherry Meabon of Ellensburg; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie Tracy of Seattle, Beatrice Harrison of Selah, Donna Davis of Benton City and Ruth Turner of Longview.
