Wendell Albro on May 17, 1938 at Geneva, and passed away on December 15, 2010, at Madonna in Lincoln, at the age of 72 years, six months and 28 days. She was one of six children in the family. Doris resided in Fairmont the majority of her life with a short period of time in Geneva when she and Dwayne were first married. A brief period was also spent in Waco by the family in the late 60's. Doris attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1957. She often spoke of her classmates and so looked forward to the alumni banquet and getting to see those old friends. She worked in many local restaurants over the years, starting with Mumby's (Fairmont) when she was still in high school; the Tower Cafe (Fairmont); Sweet Water (Exeter) and The Recipe Box (York) are just a short list of the local establishments that benefited from her cooking and service skills. Her primary occupation in life was always to be a devoted wife to Dwayne and mother to Bernard and Patti. Doris was married to Dwayne Eugene Judy of Oak on May 26, 1957, and to them two children were born. She played trumpet in the Fairmont band back in her high school years. Doris was a very good bowler and bowled on several leagues in the 60's and 70's. She and Dwayne loved to dance and enjoyed many evenings dancing with friends, twirling around the dance floor to favorite country and western tunes. She was a member of the North Side Club during the club's existence in Fairmont and remained a member of the Woman's Club in Fairmont for over 30 years. Doris was a master in a kitchen. She could bake, make candies and put together a hearty mid-western meal. Family members all have a favorite dish from Doris' kitchen. Doris is preceded in death by her parents; half-brother, Bobby Woods; brother-in-law, Ken Renquist and her husband, Dwayne. She is survived by her son, Bernard (Carol) Judy of Holdrege; Bernard and Carol's three children, Justin (Traci) Judy of Seward, Lacey (Shawn) Stone of Holdrege and youngest son, Tanner of Holdrege; daughter Patti Meyer and her fiancee', Matt Richards of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, Bill Albro (Sharon) of Lincoln, Rex Albro (Helen) of Lincoln and Gilbert Albro, Jr. of Geneva; sister, Vera Ellison and husband Richard of Geneva; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Fairmont Community Church in Fairmont on December 18 with the Rev. Karla Sheffy officiating. Nancy Jo Galusha accompanied Mic Goc, who sang "How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Steve Cantrell, Justin Judy, Larry Judy, Tanner Judy, Tommy Galusha, Mic Goc and Shawn Stone. Honorary pallbearers were Traci Judy, Terri Johnson, Stephanie Snodgrass and Lacey Stone. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
