Description	:	LIMA — Doris M. Swallow, 96, died at 8:01 a.m. June 9, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born June 1, 1917, in Lima to Earl J. and Cecil M. Copus Cheney, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 26, 1942, she married Floyd D. Swallow, who died Feb. 24, 2008. Mrs. Swallow was a 1935 graduate of Elida High School. She had worked on the assembly line for Superior Tube in Wapakoneta from which she retired. She was a member of Wapakoneta First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, (Living)Swallow, of Lima, and Roger Swallow, of Sugarland, Texas; a grandson, (Living) Swallow and granddaughter, (Living) Maass; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Cheney, of Georgia; and two sisters, Betty Gibbs, of Lima, and Jean Carder, of Delphos. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cecil Dawson. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. R.J. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wapakoneta First United Methodist Church.
