Dorlene was born January 6, 1936 north of Stamford in Harlan County, Nebraska, the eldest of two daughters born to Wayne R. "Pete" and Hazel M. (Gardner) Coffey. Dorlene was born January 6, 1936 north of Stamford in Harlan County, Nebraska, the eldest of two daughters born to Wayne R. "Pete" and Hazel M. (Gardner) Coffey. Dorlene received her education at Stamford, graduating from Stamford High School with the class of 1955. Following her education, Dorlene began a career in housekeeping and caregiving. She was employed by the Walker Post Manor Nursing Home at Oxford, Nebraska in housekeeping for ten years and then provided care of the elderly for fifteen years in several homes. Dorlene also provided in-home care for her father, Pete until his passing. Dorlene was a member of the Stamford Presbyterian Church until the closing of the church. She also enjoyed cooking and family picnics. Dorlene was preceded in death by her parents and her special friend, Merlin Knipschild. Dorlene is survived by her sister, Carman Delaney and her husband, Barry of Oxford; niece, Shannon Delaney of Council Bluffs, Iowa; nephew, Troy Delaney and his wife, Shoni of Axtell, Nebraska; three great-nieces; two great-nephews and a host of friends. Interment was in the Stamford Cemetery, Stamford, NE.
