Description	:	Mrs. Fred Milbrodt, a resident of northwestern Plymouth county for over thirty years, passed away at the family home in Akron on Saturday, April 29, 1922, at 4:05PM, of paralysis. She had been seriously ill from the effects of paralysis several times during the past few years, but her final illness began on April 19th, and although everything possible was done for her and a trained nurse secured from Sioux City, it was the Master's will that she be called to her eternal home. Read More	Mrs. Fred Milbrodt, a resident of northwestern Plymouth county for over thirty years, passed away at the family home in Akron on Saturday, April 29, 1922, at 4:05PM, of paralysis. She had been seriously ill from the effects of paralysis several times during the past few years, but her final illness began on April 19th, and although everything possible was done for her and a trained nurse secured from Sioux City, it was the Master's will that she be called to her eternal home. According to her desire, her pastor, Rev. Fred A Meske, administered the Lord's supper on Wednesday evening, April 26th. She attained the age of 65 years and 5 days. Dorothee Sophie Emilie Milbrodt (nee Wegener) was born April 24, 1857, in Steinfeld, Province of Saxony, Germany, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. On February 23, 1879, she was united in marriage there with Friedrich Milbrodt, and this union was blessed with eight children, four sons and four daughters. In 1891 they came to America and settled on a farm in Preston township, Plymouth county, Iowa. This remained the family home until three years ago, when Mr. and Mrs. Milbrodt retired from active farm life and moved to Akron, which has since remained their home. Two daughters and one son had preceded Mrs Milbrodt in death. Left to mourn her departure are her husband, three sons, two daughters, twenty-two grandchildren, and also two sisters in Germany. The entire community offers its sympathy in their bereavement. The surviving children are: Herman, on the old home farm in Preston township; Mrs. H. Dirks, of Coleridge, Nebraska; Mrs John Koch, of Akron; Fred H. Milbrodt of Coleridge, Nebraska, and John Milbrodt of Preston township. All were present at the death and funeral of their mother. Mrs. Milbrodt was a kind and devoted wife and mother, and a helpful neighbor and friend. She was a true Christian and her life was filled with many good deeds, endearing her to all who held her acquaintance. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F A Meske in Trinity Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at half past two o'clock. There were many beautiful floral offerings. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
