Mr Milbrodt had apparently been taken ill during the night, and in the morning he attracted the attention of a nearby neighbor and requested him to call a doctor, but he has passed to the Great Beyond before the physician could arrive to administer to him. John Fredrick Milbrodt was born May 21, 1852, in Oberkamms, Province of Saxony, Germany, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Klein Beister. On February 23, 1879, he was joined in holy wedlock with Miss Dorothea Wegner, and this union was blessed with eight children - four sons and four daughters. One son and two daughters preceded him into eternity. In 1891 the came to America, and then to Le Mars, and spent most of the remainder of their lives on a farm in this vicinity. In 1919 he came to Akron with his wife and son Fred, and continued to reside here until death called him. In 1922 his faithful wife was taken from him by death, and since that time he has lived here alone, although frequently visiting his children in this vicinity and in Nebraska. Mr. Milbrodt was a man of kindly and benevolent nature, a devoted husband and father, and a good and helpful neighbor and friend. He will be greatly missed by many friends, who extend their sympathy to the bereaved relatives. His departure is mourned by three sons and two daughters - Mrs Minna Dirks, of Coleridge, Nebraska; and John Milbrodt, of Akron Iowa; also by thirty--six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, at 1:45 o'clock at the residence an at 2:00 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran church, conducted by his pastor, Rev F. A. Meske. A large number of friends assembled to pay a last tribute of respect. Acting as pallbearers were Carl Bruhn, Christ. Anderson, Aug. Hitzeman, Herman Jacobs, Aug. Klemme and A. W. Lundberg. Interment was at Riverside cemetery.
