Schmitt, 1014 Simon avenue, passed away at the home of her daughter Wednesday morning, June 8, 1927, at 4:30 o'clock after being in failing health all winter suf- fering with asthma and leakage of the heart with dropsical complications. She was bedfast five weeks before her death. Mrs. Schneider was born in Bavaria, Germany, June 10, 1849, and was married in the old country to Erhardt Schneider. They came to America in 1882, locating at Humphrey, Neb., where they were prominent farmers for many years. Mr. Schneider died October 17, 1908, and since that time Mrs. Schneider has made her home with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Schmitt. Mrs. Schneider was a devout Christian mother and raised a family of excellent girls and boys, one daugh- ter and one son responding to the call of the Catholic church; the daughter becoming a Sister and the son a priest. She was a member of the Rosary sodality of the St. Law- ence church and belonged to a branch of the Third Order at Hum- phrey, Neb. The following children survive, all of whom came to attend the funeral of their mother but one son, who resides in San Francisco, Calif.; William Schneider of San Francisco, Calif.; Michael Schneider of Peters- burg, Neb.; Mrs. John Sibbing of Quincy, Ill.; Sister Mary Ottilia, 0. S. F., of Columbus, Neb.; Mrs. Henry Dreher of Springfield, N. J.; Rev. Fr. Cyrinus Schneider, O. F. M.I of near Quincy, Ill.; Mrs. Louis J. Schmitt, Carroll, Ia. Funeral services were held at the St. Lawrence church Monday morn- ing at 9 o'clock. The son, Rev. Fr. Cyrinius, was celebrant at the requiem solemn high mass. Burial was made in the S. S.
