Description	:	Life Story of Dorothy Boysen, 89 Dorothy Boysen, daughter of Jacob and Gena Brodersen, was born on a farm in Jackson Township, Shelby County, Iowa, April 27, 1872. She died June 22, 1961 at the Danish Baptist Memorial Home in Harlan at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 25 days. Her childhood and youth were spent in the Jacksonville vicinity. Read More	Life Story of Dorothy Boysen, 89 Dorothy Boysen, daughter of Jacob and Gena Brodersen, was born on a farm in Jackson Township, Shelby County, Iowa, April 27, 1872. She died June 22, 1961 at the Danish Baptist Memorial Home in Harlan at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 25 days. Her childhood and youth were spent in the Jacksonville vicinity. In March of 1894 she was united in marriage to Hans Boysen in Atlantic, Iowa. To this union 5 children were born. They lived in Atlantic for 8 years and then moved back to a farm in Jackson Township. A year later they moved to Harlan where she made her home until January 9, 1961, when due to her health, she moved to the Memorial home where she lived until her death. Mrs. Boysen was a member of Immanuels Lutheran church in Harlan. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Ernest J; 3 brothers, Hans, Chris and Charles Brodersen and 1 sister, Mrs. Ella Christensen. She is survived by one daughter, Esther, (Mrs. Frank Caporal) of Harlan; three sons, Arthur of Harlan, Dr. Harry of Chicago, Illinois and Richard of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother, Peter Brodersen of Harlan, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 25, at the Pauley Funeral Home with Pastor, Oscar E. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Harlan cemetery. Pallbearers were R.J. Finn, Harold Boysen, Forrest Findlay, Vic Brodersen, J.D. Brodersen, Henry Brodersen.
