Dorothy daughter of Joseph Francis "Josie Frank" and Maria Beulah (Canning) Glaser, was born February 24, 1928 on a farm west of Spalding, Nebraska. Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spalding, Nebraska. She attended grade school at Greeley County, Nebraska District #10 and graduated from Spalding (NE.) Dorothy daughter of Joseph Francis "Josie Frank" and Maria Beulah (Canning) Glaser, was born February 24, 1928 on a farm west of Spalding, Nebraska. Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spalding, Nebraska. She attended grade school at Greeley County, Nebraska District #10 and graduated from Spalding (NE.) Academy in 1945. She received normal training during high school and attended The University of Nebraska at Kearney before returning home to teach school at Greeley County, Nebraska District #10. On May 17, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Paul E. "Pete" Nordhues at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spalding, Nebraska. They made their home in Burwell and Bassett, Nebraska before moving to a farm five miles west of Spalding, Nebraska in 1949. In 1985, they moved into Spalding, Nebraska retiring from farming. Dorothy was a loving mother and wife. For a time, she worked as a cook at Spalding Manor & Spalding Sale Barn, and a store clerk at Coynes IGA. Pete passed away in March of 2012. Dorothy was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, St. Anne's Altar Society, Spalding Academy Alumni, and American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as secretary and treasurer. She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano and playing on the computer. Dorothy is survived by: daughters, Jeanne (Wayne) Riesberg of Carroll, Iowa, JoAnn Dugan of O'Neill, Nebraska, Arlene (Tom) Molczyk of Comstock, Nebraska, Mary (J.P.) Auten of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, Susie (David) Sloss of Lincoln, Nebraska, Peggy (Dan) Ray of Spalding, Nebraska, Elaine Nordhues and Bryan Jones of Queen Creek, Arizona, Emily (Lee) Brester of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Julie (Jeff) Carraher of Spalding, Nebraska; sons, Paul T. (Jean) of Bartlett, Nebraska, Nick (Nancy) of Miller, Nebraska and Mark (Ranotta) of Kearney, Nebraska; 32 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; nephew, Jim (Deb) Eschliman & family of Ericson, Nebraska; niece, Nancy Diessner & family of St Paul, Nebraska; cousin Wayne (Patty) Canning of Ogallala, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Paul E. "Pete" Nordhues; infant daughter, Elizabeth Ruth Nordhues; granddaughter, Tracy Riesberg; grandson, Ivan Carraher; son-in-law Bradley Dugan; brothers, Francis and Joseph Glaser; sister Helen Marie Eschliman and husband Floyd and several unborn special angels. Interment was in St. Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery, Spalding, Nebraska.
