Description	:	Dorothy Hill Hatfield, 94, a life-long resident of Madison passed away on Feb. 26, 2016 at her home. She was a graduate of Concord College and a former English teacher in the Boone County school system. On April 22, 1934, she became a member of Madison Baptist Church where she was a tireless worker for the Lord until she was finally rendered unable to continue due to her battle with cancer. Read More	Dorothy Hill Hatfield, 94, a life-long resident of Madison passed away on Feb. 26, 2016 at her home. She was a graduate of Concord College and a former English teacher in the Boone County school system. She was preceded in death her by her parents, Dell Hill and Carrie Thompson Hill, her husband, Morris M. Hatfield, her sister, Carrie Elizabeth Hill, and Donald James McPherson, 111, her grandson. She is survived by her three sons, Harry M. (Burr) Hatfield and his wife, Marcia; A. Jay Hatfield and his wife, Marylin; and Jon H. Hatfield, all of Madison; and her daughter, Anne Hatfield Lilly and her husband, Steve, of Bluefield, Virginia. She is also survived by her sister, Wilma Hill Hilbert of Seminole, Florida. She is further survived by nine grandchil¬dren, Matthew M. Hatfield, Amanda Hatfield Steinbicker, William H. Hatfield, Aaron. H. Hatfield, Benjamin J. Hatfield, Andrew Hatfield, Barbara Nummi, Christopher Lilly and Ethan Lilly. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren. The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and concern shown by the staff of Boone Memorial Hospital and Dignity Hospice. Per her request, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Madison Baptist Church in Madison, West Virginia. At her request, she was cremated and a short memorial service was held at Boone Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison. Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
