Description	:	Dorothy Gonsior, 91, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Columbus Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 11:00 AM at St. Isadore Catholic Church in Columbus with Fr. Joe Miksch celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Krakow. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil Service at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Dorothy was born on November 1, 1923, in Clarks, Nebraska, to Metro and Mary (Dyrbala) Beck. She attended Clarks High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Kearney State College. On September 12, 1945, Dorothy was united in marriage to Charles Gonsior at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clarks. While living and working on a farm between Genoa and Silver Creek, she raised four children and taught elementary school in Silver Creek and the surrounding area for 28 years. After her husband’s death in 1980 she moved to Columbus. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers in Columbus, and the Rosary Sodality of SS Peter and Paul of Krakow. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family and friends and her presence, kindness, and caring will be greatly missed. Her recent pastimes were to solve word puzzles, read, play bingo, and watch the birds and squirrels out the back window. Dorothy is survived by: Son – Gary (Pauline) Gonsior of Scottsdale, AZ Daughter – Susan O’Connell of Columbus, NE Son – Jim (Deb) Gonsior of Schuyler, NE Son – Ken Gonsior of Chicago, IL Five Grandchildren – Chris (Shavaun) Gonsior of Irvine, CA; Jenny Gonsior of Costa Mesa, CA; Michelle and Josh Gonsior of Omaha, NE; and Tyler O’Connell of Columbus, NE Four Great Grandchildren – Kylie Gonsior and Chase Reiwaldt of Omaha, NE; Sydney and Sienna Gonsior of Irvine, CA Brother – Don Beck of Clarks Sisters – Rose Anderson of Polk, NE; and Barb (Richard) Savage of Columbus, NE Dorothy was preceded in death by: Parents – Metro and Mary Beck Husband – Charles Gonsior Sisters – Ann Staroska, Katherine Konwinski, Josephine Beck and Stella Gonsior Brothers – Ed, Charles, Walter, and Albin Beck
