Born March 22, 1922 in Brookville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Edward F. & Grace Ann (Witt) Orschell. On October 23, 1943 she was united in marriage to Norbert Brackney, and he precedes her in death. Born March 22, 1922 in Brookville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Edward F. & Grace Ann (Witt) Orschell. On October 23, 1943 she was united in marriage to Norbert Brackney, and he precedes her in death. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella; as well as the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards, quilting, flowers & gardening, but above all else, spending time with her family & grandchildren. Survivors include six children, Mark (Nina) Brackney of Brookville, Indiana, Michael (Patty) Brackney of Shelbyville, Indiana; Matthew (Jenny) Brackney of Guilford, Indiana, Mary (James) Morgan of Portsmouth, Ohio, Melissa (Mike) Wolf of Sunman, Indiana and Marcia (Steve) Stenger of St. Leon, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Norbert, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Westkamp, as well as four brothers, Howard, Edward & Albert and Robert Orschell. Rev. Sean Danda will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 2, 2015, 11:00 A.M., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Brookville. Burial will then follow in St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
