Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Dorothy was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Beverly, Mass. Her parents were Guy and Minnie Cloyes. She came to Oil Hill with her parents and it was there she graduated with the class of 1937 from Oil Hill High School. On Oct. 5, 1937 she was united in marriage to Vernon Mitchell in her parents' home. For many years she worked for Dr. A.P. Cloyes as a receptionist. She had also worked for the Woods and McIntyre Lumber companies. Dorothy was a longtime member of the El Dorado Moose Lodge. She was a wonderful caregiver to both family and friends. She was an avid reader and she loved to cook. Survivors include: her husband, Vernon of the home; one daughter, Jeanie Williamson of Hoyt; and grandchildren, Kelley, Bryan and Val Williamson. She was preceded in death by her son, Billy, three brothers; and two sisters. Dorothy loved animals and it is for this reason a memorial has been established for a non-profit rescue for animals called "Pawd'ners Rescue Ranch and Hospice" Contributions may be left with Kirby-Morris Funeral Home who is assisting the family with the arrangements.
