Nesbit, 43, of 1720 Mabel, died at Ottumwa Hospital Monday at 9:15 a.m. following an attack suffered at her home about three hours earlier. She was the daughter of William A. and Mary Parks Brown, born at Chillicothe April 18, 1925. She had been a resident of the county and Ottumwa all her life. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She married Doyle B. Nesbit on Nov. 13, 1956 [sic], at Lancaster, Mo. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Charles Elkins of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Bernard Nesbit at home; four brothers, William H. Brown of Ottumwa, Richard Brown of Silvis, Ill., Waldo C. McCarty and Cecil J. McCarty, both of Silvis; five sisters, Mrs. Pauline Knight of Ottumwa, Mrs. Leaveu Hurd and Mrs. Pat Castens, both of Silvis, and Mrs. Frances Williams and Mrs. Kay Lewis, both of East Moline, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death. Services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Gerald L. Logsden, pastor of Ottumwa Foursquare Church. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
