FRED ZAUBITZER Mrs. Mary E. Zaubitzer, 42, wife of Fred Zaubitzer, Ottumwa route 1, died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday at the University hospital at Iowa City. She was the daughter of Jeff and Clara Parks and was born in Ottumwa, August 10, 1901, and lived here all her life. She is survived by her husband; by 10 children from a former marriage, four sons, William and Dwayne Brown and Junior and Clyde McCarty, all at home; six daughers, Mrs. Leaven [sic] Hurd of East Moline, Ill., Mrs. Pauline Knight and Mrs. Dorothy Elkins of Ottumwa and Wyvonne [sic] Brown, Gertrude Brown and Kaye McCarty, all at home; her mother, Mrs. Clara Parks of Ottumwa, and one sister, Mrs. Lydia Robinson of Ottumwa. The body is at the Johnson funeral home awaiting the completion of arrangements. "ZAUBITZER FUNERAL," From "Ottumwa Courier, March 24, 1944: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Zaubitzer, wife of Fred Zaubitzer of Ottumwa route 1, who died Wednesday at the University hospital in Iowa City, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. A.D. McClure will be in charge of the services and burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
