She was born August 25, 1928, in Council Grove, the daughter of Allen Sr. and Eleanor B (Durell) Garrett. Graveside Service will be 2:00pm Monday, March 26th, 2011, at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington, Pastor Bill Peterson officiating. Read More	Dorothy E Dozier, 83, of Herington, died Friday, March 23rd, 2012, at the Kansas Christian Home, Newton. She was born August 25, 1928, in Council Grove, the daughter of Allen Sr. and Eleanor B (Durell) Garrett. Friends may call Monday, from 10am until noon at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, when Mrs. Dozier will lie in state. Mrs. Dozier was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church; and sang in the choir and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. She attended Council Grove High School with the class of 1946. She was married to James Wodke from 1944-1974. She married Dr. Fred Dozier on August 16, 1975, in Wichita; he preceded in death on January 10, 1989. Also preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Sue Wodke on May 23, 2003; three (3) sisters (Mildred Garrett, Pauline King, & Evelyn Garrett- age 9); and her parents. She is survived by two (2) sons: Jim Wodke, Jr. (wife-Linda) of Loveland, Colorado, and Brad Wodke (wife-JoAnn) of Newton; a brother Allen Garrett, Jr. of Sterling, KS; four (4) sisters: Marjorie Dearing of Bentonville, Arkansas, Lois Cox of Olympia, Washington, Edith Peterson of Council Grove, and Ethel Hastings of Herington; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren Memorials to the New Hope at Valley Center; and may be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 South Broadway, Herington, Kansas, 67449-3038.
