Dumont was born in Marion, December 13th, 1899, and died at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Lottie Dawson, August 3d, 1916, aged 16 years, 7 months and 20 days. Her early life was spent in Marion, but at the age of 10 years she accompanied her widowed mother and brothers and sisters to Cedar Rapids, where she with the family has since resided. Read More	DOROTHY HELEN DUMONT -------------------- Dorothy Helen Dumont, youngest child of C.W. and Rebecca C. Dumont was born in Marion, December 13th, 1899, and died at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Lottie Dawson, August 3d, 1916, aged 16 years, 7 months and 20 days. Her early life was spent in Marion, but at the age of 10 years she accompanied her widowed mother and brothers and sisters to Cedar Rapids, where she with the family has since resided. Her illness was of brief duration, and the immediate cause of her death was a weakened heart. Dorothy had grown into a beautiful girl, with rare beauty of face and form; but above and beyond all this she possessed that wonderful sweetness of disposition and those loveable[sic] graces of character which made her a general favorite, and particularly endeared her to her friends and family. She was the baby and pet of the family, and after the death of her farther, in 1908, and that of her eldest brother two years later, was the comfort and constant companion of her sorely bereaved mother. She was always the joy and life of the home--her presence like sunlight and her companionship a constant benediction. She possessed a charm and winsomeness of nature that won and held the love of teacher, schoolmate and companion, and such a sunny disposition as that with which she was blest[sic] made of every companion a friend. During the week preceding her death she longed for the cool and quiet of the home and ministry of her aunt in Marion, and here with mother, sisters and brother she was brought Tuesday evening, July 31st and here, like a tired child, satisfied and contented but overcome by the weariness of her life's short day, she fell peacefully and quietly asleep at 2 o'clock Thursday morning. Her life seemed unusually bright, pure and full of rare promise. We cannot doubt it still continues--transformed and immortal--in God's eternal "morning land," the abiding place of his beloved. ---------------------------------- CARD OF THANKS ---------------------------------- We take this method of thanking the many friends and neighbors who by manifold words of sympathy and kindly ministrations brought such a large measure of comfort to us in the hour of our bereavement.
