Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2016 at Neveda City Municipal Cemetery, in Neveda, IA. Dorothy was born December 9, 1919, to Lloyd and Elva (Emerson) Young in Ames. She was united in marriage to Harry Alexander on April 7, 1938, in Ames. He died November 22, 1996. She married Herbert Rich on May 31, 2003. He died July 29, 2006. In her early years, Dorothy, was employed at the Pentagon during WWII. Most of her life she was employed as a legal secretary. She worked for a few years at Coe College, in the library. Dorothy loved to listen to books on tape as her eye sight declined. She enjoyed to camp with her family when her kids were growing up. In her retirement years she loved to travel. Dorothy will be missed by three children; Dee (Ron) Hoewing, Janet (Jim) Ray, Neil (Dorothy) Alexander, eight grandchildren; Mike (Sherri) Hoewing, Mark (Loree) Hoewing, Chad Benesh, Aaron Benesh, Sean (Katie) Benesh, Tina Benesh, Jason (Vicki) Alexander, Jeffrey Alexander, several great grandchildren, a brother, Dale (Pat) Young, two nieces; Ranee and Cheryl (Todd). She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Thomas, a son in law, Gary Benesh, and grandson, Brian Benesh.
