She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter. Judith Ann Duey; a brother, Otto Wullenwaber; and a sister, Louise Hoover. Survivors include her husband: a son, Thomas, Mankato; a daughter, Mrs. Steve Rakosky (Barbara), Nelson; two sisters, Mrs. Don Beach (Velma), Seward, Mrs. Kenneth Schultz (Lois), Columbus; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Superior Express, Thursday, December 2, 1993 -------------------------------------------- Dorothy Jane Joy, daughter of Henry George and Hannah Kathryn (Druker) Wullenwaber, was born on a farm near Utica, Nebraska, August 21, 1923, and passed away Friday, November 26, 1993, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 5 days. She attended Utica Schools and graduated from Utica High School. On March 6, 1945, at Mankato, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Myron Frank Joy, Jr. This union was blessed with three children. Dorothy worked at Wullenwaber Grocery Store, Petty's Cafe, Smith's Cafe and was employed by the Nuckolls County Treasurer's office for 34 years, serving as a clerk, deputy and county treasurer. She was a member and secretary of the Presbyterian Church Woman's Circle, a member of Nebraska Association of County Officials and was elected Senior County Employee in Nebraska. She enjoyed planting flowers and shubbery, tending to her many house plants and the yard. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who always put others needs before her own. Dorothy was loved dearly by her family and will be missed very much by those who knew her. Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Judith Ann Duey; a brother, Otto Wullenwaber; and a sister, Louise Hoover. Survivors include her husband Myron of Nelson; one son, Thomas Joy and his wife, Roxanne, of Mankato, Kansas; one daughter, Barbara Rakosky, and her husband, Steve, of Nelson, Nebraska; two sisters, Velma Beach, and her husband, Don, of Seward, Nebraska, and Lois Schultz and her husband, Kenneth, of Columbus, Nebraska; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 30, 1993, at 2 p.m. from Nelson Community United Church of Christ with Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Music was provided by soloist, Debi Garrison, sining, "If I Can Help Somebody" and "One Day At A Time", with Carlita Price as organist. Casketbearers were Chris Joy, Jim Joy, Jay Nielsen, Roger Wullenwaber, Gary Wullenwaber and Gary Jelinek. Burial was in Nelson Cemetery.
