Born June 18, 1924 in Conquerall Bank, NS she was the daughter of the late Ruey and Mercy (Whitman) Sarty. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Rev. Seth Wilson Crowell and brother Arnold Sarty. Dolly attended school at Pleasantville and Bridgewater, NS where she graduated. Read More	Dorothy “Dolly” Laura Gwendolyn Crowell, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born June 18, 1924 in Conquerall Bank, NS she was the daughter of the late Ruey and Mercy (Whitman) Sarty. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Rev. Seth Wilson Crowell and brother Arnold Sarty. Dolly attended school at Pleasantville and Bridgewater, NS where she graduated. She attended the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing and attended and graduated from Maritime Business College. Dolly worked for Lamb and Fowke Barristers and Solicitors in Bridgewater and Forest Hills Baptist Church. She was a devotional speaker for many Christian services and Ladies retreats throughout the Atlantic Provinces and Maine. She taught Sunday school for 40 years in various places where her late husband was pastor including Georgetown, MA, Gunningsville, NB, Hartland, NB and Forest Hills Baptist Church, Saint John, NB. Dolly gave her heart and life to Jesus Christ as her Saviour and Lord at the age of 14. She loved the Lord and her family dearly. They were her greatest joy. She is survived by her loving children Janice Taylor (Rev. Robert) of Rhode Island, Dr. Seth Crowell (Dawn) of Riverview, Rev. Dr. Philip Crowell of Vancouver and Rev. Andrew Crowell of Hamilton, ON; cherished grandchildren Bethany Hodgeman (Rev. Bill), Rob Taylor, Shannon Nevers (Darrell), Liam Harvey-Crowell, Hannah Crowell and Samuel Crowell, great grandchildren Brennan, Evie and Zoe; sister-in-law Gwendolyn Sarty of Bridgewater, NS; nephew Stephen Sarty (Ruby) of Bridgewater, NS and niece Susan Mason (Michael) of Conquerall Bank. Visitations will be held at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 36 Mountain Road, Saint John, on Saturday, February 14 from 11-1 with the funeral service commencing at 1 p.m., followed by a reception. A private family interment will take place in Pleasantville, NS in the spring. Remembrances in memory of Dolly may be made to the Forest Hills Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
