Copen, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 4. Born in Byer, Ohio, she resided in Barberton for 62 years, and moved to Elyria six years ago. A member of the Moore Memorial United Methodist Church, she worked many years at Barberton Citizens Hospital as an Assistant Supervisor of Housekeeping, and retired from Akron Childrens Medical Center in 1963 as an LPN. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Copen Sr. in 1972; brothers, Cybert Coon, formerly of Wellston, Ohio; Orlando Coon, formerly of Crystal Beach, Fla.; and sister, Grace Bert, formerly of Barberton. She is survived by six children, William A. Copen Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. James (Ruth) Bartram of Barberton, Charles Copen of Copley, Mrs. Ted (Ann) Johnson of Barberton, Floyd Thomas Copen of Norton, and Mrs. James (Opal) Snyder of Elyria; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rev. John Coon of Barberton, Thomas Coon of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and sister, Cora Mae Roy of Inkster, Mich. Funeral services Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman Funeral Home, Rev. Robert Webb officiating, and where visitation will be held tonight, 6 to 9 p.m. Further services Friday, 1 p.m., at the Rogers Funeral Home, Wellston, Ohio, with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial Byer Cemetery.
