Haynes who died Aug. 2, 2001. She was a charter member and past president of the V.F.W # 9955 of Pittsfield, a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pittsfield Fire Dept., a former member of the Pittsfield Christmas Project, A founding member of the Pittsfield Head Start Program, and she was an avid MCI football fan and supporter. She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia and her husband Richard Thurlow of Lisbon Falls, Tammie McLaggan and her friend Randy of Detroit, three sons and their wives, Nathan and Cheryl Haynes, Rusty and Lillian Haynes, Michael and Cindy Haynes all of Pittsfield, one sister Betty Armstrong of Indiana, one sister-in-law Helen Haynes, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be remembered by a dear friend and almost daughter Sheila Southard of Detroit. She was predeceased by three sisters, Lucille, Vera, Sue, and three brothers, Jacob Oscar, and Nathan Jr. Funeral services will be conducted at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery (New Cemetery) Augusta (Brown Funeral Home on-line)
