Description	:	Dorothy M. Meyer, 85, of Waverly, died Sunday, Dec. 21, at her home at the Eichhorn Haus of Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly. She was born July 4, 1923, near Waverly, daughter of Erwin and Martha Rodemeyer Bergmann. On May 4, 1946, she married Harley E. Meyer. Mrs. Meyer graduated from Waverly High School in 1941 and received her teaching certificate. She taught rural school in Klinger. Read More	Dorothy M. Meyer, 85, of Waverly, died Sunday, Dec. 21, at her home at the Eichhorn Haus of Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly. She was born July 4, 1923, near Waverly, daughter of Erwin and Martha Rodemeyer Bergmann. On May 4, 1946, she married Harley E. Meyer. Mrs. Meyer graduated from Waverly High School in 1941 and received her teaching certificate. She taught rural school in Klinger. In 1943 she went to work for the Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance Co., Waverly, (now CUNA Mutual). In 1944 she moved to Arlington, Va., and was employed by the federal government in the clerical department for the Department of the Navy. The following year she returned to Waverly and became a secretary for the Farmer's Exchange. She later worked for optometrist Dr. Gray, and in 1963 went to work as a secretary for St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly. Survived by: her husband; a son, Richard J. (Claudia) of Springfield, Ill.; a daughter, Kathryn (Richard) Magnall of Waverly; four grandchildren; three brothers, LeRoy (Mildred) Bergmann of Waverly, Harley (Betty) Bergmann of Hudson and David (Dolly) Bergmann of Atlantic; a sister, Geneva (Irving) Ellerman of Waverly; and four sisters-in-law, Gladys Bergmann of Horton, Leone Bergmann of Waverly, Jo Bergmann of Minnesota and Betty Bergmann of New Hampton. Preceded in death by: a daughter, Mary M. Meyer; four brothers, Edgar, Robert, Roger and Allan Bergmann; and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and John Warnke. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community Chaplaincy Fund. Condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com.
