Eastman, daughter of Erving and Florence (Cleary) Eastman, was born April 24, 1920 in Elk River, MN. She grew up in Sioux Falls, SD, graduating from St. Joseph Cathedral High School. As a young woman Dorothy worked at Lewis Drug Store and Fantle's Department Store in downtown Sioux Falls. She later was co-owner of the "Snack Shack" across the street from the Cathedral for over 11 years. She also helped St. Joseph's grade school start their lunch program, where she worked as a cook. Dorothy later worked at Good Samaritan and Bethany Nursing Homes before retiring in 1982. She was a life-long member of St. Joseph Cathedral, the Cathedral club and Catholic Daughters of America. She will be remembered as a person who adored her nieces and nephews as well as all children. Grateful for having shared her life are her siblings, Marilyn Granum, Sioux Falls, Ronald Eastman, Coalinga, CA, and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, sister, Margie Lyman and brothers Robert and Gordon, preceded her in death. Miller Funeral Home- 5/2010
