(Owens) Pauley. On January 16, 1954 in Monticello, IN, she married Charles J. "Charlie" Maxson. He died on May 20, 2000. Dorothy moved to the Monticello area in 1954 after marrying her husband. Read More	Dorothy Mae Maxson, 84, died on July 12, 2020 at her Monticello residence surrounded by family. She was born on January 3, 1936 in Monon, IN to the late Joseph H. Pauley and Elsie M. (Owens) Pauley. On January 16, 1954 in Monticello, IN, she married Charles J. "Charlie" Maxson. He died on May 20, 2000. Dorothy moved to the Monticello area in 1954 after marrying her husband. She had worked at the former Bryan Manufacturing, Youngs Cafeteria and Indiana Beach Campground. Dorothy was most known for babysitting for the employees of the old RCA Factory in Monticello and just about anyone else needing a good babysitter. She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, camping, working outdoors and walking everywhere. Dorothy most of all loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Her entire family was always requesting her fried potatoes and her homemade French fries. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one son-in-law; one daughter-in-law; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Joseph R. Maxson; daughter, Betty J. West; grandson, Billy Lyle Abbott; three brothers - James Pauley, Joseph Pauley and John Pauley; and three sisters - Joy Williams, Katherine Woody and Mary Jean Smith. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Raderstorf of Faith Covanent will officiate. Burial will take place in I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery.
