Description	:	Dorothy M. Ashcraft, 81, died Thursday (July 10, 2003) at Newton Medical Center. She was born March 17, 1922, to Clark H. and Elsie (Kimball) Miller in Ordway, Colo. She attended schools in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1940. She married Glenn H. Ashcraft Sr. on May 3, 1942, in Newton. He survives of Newton. She retired in 1984 as the deputy clerk of the District Court of Harvey County. She was a member of the Lady Elks and volunteered at Newton Medical Center and the American Legion. She was born March 17, 1922, to Clark H. and Elsie (Kimball) Miller in Ordway, Colo. She attended schools in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1940. She married Glenn H. Ashcraft Sr. on May 3, 1942, in Newton. He survives of Newton. She retired in 1984 as the deputy clerk of the District Court of Harvey County. She was a member of the Lady Elks and volunteered at Newton Medical Center and the American Legion. She enjoyed oil painting. After retirement, her time was spent with volunteering, charity work and traveling. Survivors include: five sons, W.C. "Butch" and wife Cheryl Ashcraft, Glenn H. Jr. and wife Susie Ashcraft, all of Newton, T.M. and wife Cathie Ashcraft of Tupelo, Miss., Mike and wife Amy Ashcraft of Dallas, Texas, and Pat and wife Connie Ashcraft of Memphis, Tenn.; five brothers, Dale and wife Lois Miller of Florence, Mark and wife Doris Miller of Newton, Neil and wife Melva Miller of Wichita, Sam and wife Bonnie Miller of Hesston and Vernal and wife Liz Miller of North Newton; two sisters, Shirley and husband Bill Hall of Wichita and Becky and husband Mike Crupper of Newton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Community Foursquare Church with the Rev. Jason Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials have been established with Newton Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund and the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
